Minecraft Dungeons 2 Tier List
The best gear at launch is Tornado Blade and Pride of the Plains for weapons, Death Cap Mushroom, Fighter's Flute and Firework Arrow for artifacts, Armadillo Amulet for talismans, and Frost Crescent and Healing Smite for enchantments. Every pick has a reason, and anything without enough evidence sits in Unranked yet.
Launch-week info, last checked . We update this page as patches and new data land.
How we rank
What counts as evidence
Three things: documented numbers (effect percentages, Soul cost, cooldown), what players say about the item in launch-week footage, and what press guides call a favorite. A tier needs at least two of them, or one very clear number.
How an item gets a tier
S means the item does a lot for a low cost and players keep reaching for it. A is strong but tied to a playstyle. B is solid in the right build. C is niche. D means the numbers or the game's own systems make it a weak slot. Ranks are within a category, so a B artifact is not compared to an S weapon.
What goes in Unranked yet
Anything with no listed effect, no numbers or only a press mention. We would rather leave it out than guess. Items that are reported but not confirmed also sit there, labelled.
What this list cannot see
Launch data does not publish weapon damage yet, drop rates are unknown and most player footage comes from early-access builds. Treat this as a launch week snapshot. We will move items as real damage numbers and patches arrive.
95 items ranked (S 8, A 27, B 48, C 9, D 3) and 58 unranked yet.
The tier list
S tier weapons
Tornado Blade
A swirl for 60% weapon damage on every swing means you clear a room without changing how you play.
- Documented numbers
Pride of the Plains
Forty percent more on your main target makes elites and bosses fall over faster than any flat bonus.
- Documented numbers
A tier weapons
Soul Reaper
Sixty percent more souls keeps your artifacts firing, and players treat souls as the real ammo in this game.
- Documented numbers
- Player consensus
Cacaphonous Cleaver
Heals 7% max health for every soul you gather, so fighting a crowd is how you stay alive.
- Documented numbers
Sift Socks
Forty percent more damage to wounded enemies rewards the usual pattern: chip them, then finish.
- Documented numbers
Creaking's Reach
Double damage from far away matches what players say about the blue empowered mobs: keep them at range.
- Documented numbers
- Player consensus
Spectral Spear
A wave for 90% weapon damage on top of the hit puts damage on everything in a line.
- Documented numbers
Diamond Shovel
A shockwave with 200% knockback pushes packs off you, which is crowd control from a weapon slot.
- Documented numbers
Dual Crossbows
No charge time, hits hard and gets a bonus from jump attacks. Players call it the easy ranged pick.
- Player consensus
B tier weapons
Awesomeaxe
A 70% chance to grant Strength on hit is a steady buff, but it does not scale the way a damage bonus does.
- Documented numbers
The Shackler
Chaining 30% of the things you hit helps, though it is a tool, not a damage plan.
- Documented numbers
Double Crossers
Every roll adds 20% to your next attack and stacks, which pays off only if you roll constantly.
- Documented numbers
Sift Sickles
Your healing and your allies' healing is 50% stronger. Great in co-op, wasted solo.
- Documented numbers
Shooting Star
A 20% chance to dodge melee damage is a safety net on a ranged weapon, not a reason to pick it.
- Documented numbers
Sculker's Bane
Twenty percent more on soul attacks only matters if your build already leans on them.
- Documented numbers
Stormcaller
Twenty-five percent more lightning damage is perfect in a lightning build and nothing outside one.
- Documented numbers
- Press guides
Double Daggers
Fifteen percent knockback and 10% melee damage. Fast, but the numbers are small.
- Player consensus
Scythe
A 25% soul gain bonus is nice for artifact builds, though the weapon itself is nothing special.
- Player consensus
C tier weapons
Emerald Hammer
A 5% chance of better loot does nothing for the fight in front of you.
- Documented numbers
Elemental Staff
A random elemental buff on kills is fun, but you cannot plan around random.
- Documented numbers
D tier weapons
Phantom Wing
Six percent more on jump shots is a rounding error next to what the other uniques give.
- Documented numbers
Unranked yet 45
Base weapon types and unique weapons whose effect is not listed yet. Nobody has published damage numbers for them.

- Documented numbers
- Press guides
Firework Arrow
Rocket plus horn is the loadout players keep recommending: cheap, and the rocket does real damage.
- Documented numbers
- Player consensus
A tier artifacts
Warrior Drums
Crits do double damage while active. Same idea as the flute, and it stacks with crit gear.
- Documented numbers
Corrupted Seeds
Twenty Souls to poison and root everything around you. Players use it as the panic button against swarms.
- Documented numbers
- Press guides

The horn knocks a crowd down and buys you a moment. It is half of the loadout players suggest first.
- Documented numbers
- Player consensus
Banner
The team melee buff is why players ask for a banner in co-op.
- Documented numbers
- Player consensus
Totem of Regeneration
A big 65 Soul cost and a 27 second cooldown. Strong for the healer in a party, not worth it solo.
- Documented numbers
- Press guides

Lightning on your weapon stops enemies in their tracks, and it pairs well with fast weapons like claws.
- Documented numbers

A barrier that blocks projectiles, but a 15 second cooldown makes it a planned move.
- Documented numbers

Shortens allies' artifact cooldowns. Good for a coordinated party, dead weight otherwise.
- Documented numbers
Tempo Truffle
A cheap speed boost for 20 Souls. Useful, but it does not kill anything.
- Documented numbers

A smoke bomb to close in unseen. Handy against ranged enemies, weak elsewhere.
- Documented numbers
Blaze Bangle
Fire on your attacks for 35 Souls. Does the job, and the poison and lightning bangles do it better.
- Documented numbers

Thrown honey releases bees that slow enemies. Players kept it in their starter kit.
- Player consensus
Warding Chimes
A defensive buff for 40 Souls on a 15 second cooldown. It toughens you, not your party.
- Documented numbers
C tier artifacts

An area attack on a 16 second cooldown. The wait is long for what you get.

Tier list questions
What is the best weapon in Minecraft Dungeons 2 right now?
Tornado Blade and Pride of the Plains rank S in launch week. Tornado Blade adds a swirl worth 60% of weapon damage on every swing, and Pride of the Plains does 40% more damage to your main target. Launch data does not publish base weapon damage yet, so this ranks the listed unique effects, not raw damage.
How was this tier list made?
Each pick needs at least two kinds of evidence: documented numbers (effect percentages, Soul cost, cooldown), what players say in launch week footage, and what press guides call a favorite. Anything with less goes in Unranked yet instead of getting a guessed tier.
Why are so many items unranked?
58 items are unranked because they have no listed effect, no numbers, or are reported but not confirmed. Base weapon types are the largest group, since nobody has published their damage. They move into a tier once there is data.
Will the tiers change?
Yes. This is Launch week v1, dated September 29, 2026. Balance patches and published damage numbers will move items, and the date on this page changes each time we update it.
Next: try these picks in Build Lab, search every item in the gear database, read the launch week rankings write-up, early game artifacts, how enchanting works.
